GARY B. PILLERSDORF is the founder of GARY B. PILLERSDORF & ASSOCIATES, P.C., one of New York’s most prominent litigation firms, with its principal office in Manhattan. He is board certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. With over 35 years of courtroom experience, Gary has taken more than 350 verdicts, including 28 verdicts exceeding one million dollars, as well as many multi-million dollar settlements.
Mr. Pillersdorf is a member of the Million-Dollar Advocates Forum, has been selected for Who’s Who in American Law and has been elected to “Super Lawyers, the Top Attorneys in New York” for the past three years. He has won the prestigious Mel Award from the Melvin Belli Society, the Trial Lawyer of the Year Award from the Institute of Jewish Humanities and was the first northerner to win the War Horse Award presented by the Southern Trial Lawyers Association.
He is a past president of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, where he currently serves as Dean Emeritus for New York State Continuing Legal Education. He has authored the highly acclaimed textbook New York Motor Vehicle Accidents, published by James Publishing, and is a frequent contributing author to Trial Magazine, a national publication for the trial bar. Mr. Pillersdorf is a highly sought after lecturer, teaching courses in Trial Advocacy, Medicine and Courtroom Techniques, throughout the Nation.
Sam Rosmarin, a Cornell undergraduate who attended Boston University School of Law, has thirty years experience in the field of medical malpractice. Sam, as our senior of-counsel attorney, heads our Westchester office. He developed his expertise defending the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center for 15 years before devoting the next fifteen years to representing those harmed by medical negligence. Every potential medical negligence case is evaluated by Sam and a team of highly credentialed medical consultants to identify departures from the standard of care.
Paul A. Hayt, a cum laude graduate of Middlebury College, and a member of Law Review at New York Law School, is a 20 year practitioner who recently joined the firm as litigation director in an of-counsel capacity. While in his own practice, he successfully represented thousands of clients and set Appellate precedents. He has made our paperwork the envy of the industry, winning directed verdicts in a number of major cases, saving years of litigation time and reducing costs.
Heidi L. Wickstrom is an associate in our trial department. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan cum laude and Syracuse University College of Law. Heidi has second chaired Mr. Pillersdorf in securing numerous high-dollar settlements and verdicts, as well as obtaining a $625,000 verdict in her first solo trial.
Robert G. Genthner, an associate in our trial department, is a graduate of Syracuse University College of Law where he won national honors in trial advocacy. Since joining the firm, he has second chaired Mr. Pillersdorf on several high profile cases, including a 10.4 million dollar recovery.
